| Lenny Kravitz, Madonna And Sheryl Crow On New AIDS Benefit Album Some of music's top names are contributing cover songs to an AIDS research benefit compilation titled Between The Covers that will be released in Canada by Nettwerk on September 12. The disc rounds up some of the most celebrated covers of the last few years, including Lenny Kravitz's "American Woman" and Sheryl Crow's "The First Cut Is The Deepest." It will also include some lesser-known versions, such as Tori Amos' take on Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit." In conjunction with the album's release date, VH1, VH1 Classic and Logo in the U.S. will air a half-hour special on the undertaking that will be hosted by the Bacon Brothers, whose cover of The Beatles' "If I Needed Someone" is included on the compilation. Proceeds from the record will benefit the T.J. Martell Foundation, which raises funds for research into treatments and cures for leukemia, cancer and AIDS. 8/13/2006 Source:http://www.chartattack.com |
